I'm In Trouble Now

Today at church, our friend George spoke on prayer. At one point in his lecture, he mentioned that it was a bad habit to pray with your kids before you put them to bed at night. That really confused me so after the service was over, I approached him and asked for clarification. He had mentioned something about his son wriggling around and hiding under the covers previous to this so he told me that he meant that praying while they were goofing off was a bad idea. He then asked me if I had any children. I said no. He asked if I was married. I said no. Then, in that great Egyptian accent of his, he said, "Are the American boys blind? You are very pretty." I laughed, blushed, and said, "I guess they are." He said, "No, really. You are very pretty." I blushed further and told him thank you. Then he said, "Why do you thank me? I did not make you this pretty. God did." I grinned and told him he was right. Then he says, "I am going to pray that God brings you a good man to kneel at your feet and adore your beauty." To this I nearly keeled over laughing. So he says, "Did I say anything wrong?" I told him no. But I was thinking, "Now I'm screwed. If anyone has sway with God, it's George. I may end up married after all." :-)

A perfect and undeniably George story! You can't help but love this guy.

HA HA HA HA

I don't want you to find a man to just adore your beauty... becuase those would be a dime a dozen... anyone can find someone to adore their outward beauty.... I want him to adore everything about you.

The way you dance
The way you smile
The way you laugh

your personality
your love of God
your love and care of children (well sometimes)

and all the other wonderful things that make you Lauren.

and I hope he's the opposite of all the things that make you mad at men. He should be a man worthy of your love back.

LOL! My love and care of children *sometimes*?! Thanks a lot, Mom. :-) I always take good care of them. The love part however.....yeah. ;-)

Yes it was the love of children that I was saying was only sometimes.

I know. I just didn't want to get into my whole why I don't want to be married bit with George.

LOL! I love George.

And I think that Sally is exactly right. Although... I would venture to say that if George was praying for a man who admired your beauty, he meant far more than your physical beauty. ;)

That said, I think, really, there are few people around who aren't aware of your beauty, dear, both inward and outward. I'M going to pray that God makes YOU more aware of it. ;)

Yeah, it's not guys being blind. It's guys in general. :)

I can assure you that when George speaks of beauty, he is speaking of something far deeper, far more profound, and far more - for lack of a better word - mystical than simple physical beauty. Although, I'm sure he would not discount this as well. Don't sell yourself short, Lauren. If George says your beautiful, that's an extremely cool - and spiritual - comment!

If you lean in really close, you can almost see her blushing. ;)
